Looking Back At 2018

2018 was a busy and exciting year for Isca Fine Art.  We visited lots of galleries around the South West to talk about their packing and shipping requirements and discuss the services we offer. This meant getting to see some of the best of the South West art scene and meet some of the talented artists living and creating in Devon.

From these visits, we were able to establish areas within fine art packing and shipping that we could make changes to or add services that would benefit the artists and galleries locally.  One of the areas we made significant changes this year was in the variety of packing options we offered. We trialled and tested new ideas and materials which would enable Isca Fine Art to offer better rates and services to our art customers.  With the implementation of these new packing methods, we opened up our services to a wider range of artists and galleries by offering a packing and shipping service to meet their needs.

This year we were also able to visit some of the Devon Open Studios locations, meeting artists and sculptors working locally. It is such a fabulous event giving the general public an insight into how the work is created. There were also workshops to teach techniques and learn from the Devon talent.  The event was such a wonderful way of celebrating all of the talent living in the South West.

It was a busy year for sculptures being packed and shipped abroad with a number of pieces being sent to Australia for exhibitions. We worked closely with both Messum’s gallery and Dominic Welch this year shipping numerous sculptures for both commissions and exhibitions on their behalf.  Every new sculpture brings us new and unique shapes and sizes to pack securely and safely for transit.  It also means we get to enjoy the wonderful work before it leaves our premises.

As a division of Isca Forwarding, we are also happy to be a finalist in the BIFA freight awards for going the “Extra Mile” for our customers.  For us, this award means a lot as we pride ourselves on trying to meet the needs and requirements of every customer while offering first-rate customer service.

Finally, Isca as a whole including both the forwarding and fine art divisions have been awarded AEO certification. This means we have preferential customs treatment and are considered to be a Freight Forwarder offering a high level of service meeting all of the requirements needed to be given this status.  What a year it has been, we only hope that 2019 can be just as good if not better. We hope you all have a great start to 2019 and look forward to working with you this year.
